This Indenture made this 14^th Day of January in the Year of our Lord 1822 between John Kirk and William Kirk administrators and Anna Kirk admx on the Estate of Stephen Kirk deceased of the State and County aforesaid and William Whatley of the same State and County, Witneseth that for and in consideration of the sum of Four Hundred and Nine Dollars and Seventy Seven Cents to his the said adms and admx as aforesaid in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged in here bargained, sold, conveyed and confirmed and by these presents do bargain, sell, convey and confirm unto the said William Whatley his heirs and assigns forever One Half of that lot of land known by number fifteen in the tenth district of Baldwin now Jones County the same being that half joining said Whatley and Beverly A. Griffin and bounded by a line running parallel with said Griffin and said Whatley’s line containing One Hundred One and a fourth acres more or less also two and a half acres in the Southeast corner of lot fourteen in the same County and District the same being more or less, to have and to hold said land and premises with every part and particle thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining unto the said William Whatley his heirs and assigns forever and in the said John Kirk, William Kirk and Anna Kirk administrators and administratrise on the Estate of Stephen Kirk deceased aforesaid do by these presents for ourselves, our heirs and assigns as the heir and assigns of said Kirk deceased forever warrant and defend said land against the claim or claims of ourselves or any other person or persons whomsoever in fee simple unto the said William Whatley his heirs and assigns forever.

In witness whereof we the said Adm’s and Admx have hereunto set our hands and seals the day and Year above written, signed, sealed and delivered in presence of:

Personally came before me Roderick Rutland and who after being duly sworn saith that he saw Anna Kirk, John Kirk and William Kirk execute and acknowledge the within deed for the purposes therein aforesaid and that William Whatley together with himself became at the same time (sulmonling?) witness’s thereunto.
