DEEDS - Book 15

1874-1876

Sevier County, Arkansas

Know all men by these presents that I Levi L. Kirk of the county of Sevier in the state of Arkansas in consideration of the sum of Five Dollars cash in hand paid by H.C. Williamson of the same place (the receipt of which I do hereby acknowledge) have bargained and sold, and by these presents do bargain and sell to said H.C. Williamson the following described property to wit. Also for the consideration aforesaid, I do hereby bargain and sell to said H.C. Williamson all the cotton crop which I shall raise in said county on the place known as the Norwood place or elsewhere which said crop I do hereby agree to plant, cultivate, gather and put in a marketable condition for said Williamson on or before the 1st day of November, 1875 and where the said Williamson has agreed to advance to me sundry goods, (wares sp?) and merchandise not exceeding Seventy Five Dollars in value. Now should I will and truly satisfy and pay off said note and said book account and all other indebtedness which may be due said Williamson on or before the said 1st day of November 1875, then this said to be void. But should I fail to pay the same as aforesaid then it shall be lawful for said Williamson without process of law to take possession of all of said bargained property and crops, and offer, giving ten days notice of the time and place of sale, sell the same to the highest bidder for cash and appropriate the proceeds to the discharge of said indebtedness and pay any balance to me or my (heirs?). It is further provided that all my cotton may at the option of said Williamson be shipped to the (aforesaid?) market. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 26th day of April 1875.
