Rufus Thomas, 78, of Nashville died Apr. 1. Graveside services were April 4, conducted by Rev. Roy Brooks in the Cerro Gordo Cemetery. Norwood Funeral Home of Idabel was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Thomas was born Nov. 17, 1908, in Hugo Okla., the son of Robert and Emma Kirk Thomas. He was a Farmer and a Baptist. He lived at Cerro Gordo several years. Survivors include one brother, Percy Thomas of Delhi, Calif.; and four neices, Gladine Bollinger of Nashville, Pauline Wolfley of Oklahoma City, Virginia Poe and Evelyn Moore, both of Dallas.

Pallbearers were Bobby Moore, Herman Williamson, James Lamb, Cecil Finely Tony and Harold Kendrick.
