This document was handed down to generations and the source of the Author has not been determined. The following is a reproduction of the original by Scott A. Kirk on 17 October, 2000. The structure and text are duplicated even with spelling errors as they originally appeared on the document. From henceforth, this will be referred to as "The Originating Document" since this was the first source of information that I received in my genealogy research.

Levi Louis Kirk was a registered voter of Sevier Co. Ark in September 1868; in a firm, beautiful hand he entered his signature in the reigister; he gave hisoccupation as farmer.

Levi Kirk, according to Emma Kirk Thomas, his granddaughter, was the first mayor of DeQueen, Ark, but resigned before histerm expired because "he had too many friends to be in politics."  Mary E. Doggett Kirk died in October 22, 1875; Levi remarried April 30, 1898 At Dequeen, Ar,. His second wife was Martha J. Salter.

 

MARY ELIZABETH DOGGETT KIRK

Born April 11, 1840 in Columbus Co. Ga., married Levi Louis Kirk Mar. 23, 1854, died Oct. 22, 1875, buried Old Union Cemetery, Lockesburg, Ark.  She was the daughter of John W. Doggett and Mary Ann Lyon of Harris Co. Ga.  He died in 1853 and she died in 1858.

John W. Doggett’s father was Ada Doggett, son of John Doggett and Ann Garner of Mecklenburg, Co. Virginia.  John R. Doggett of Lockesburg, Arkansas, married Fannie Patton of Norwoodville, Arkansas on Dec. 5, 1877. Parents of:

John R. and Fannie Doggett are buried in Paris, Texas, where their daughter Cora now lives.  Asa Doggett, the eldest son of John W. and Mary Ann Doggett, moved with His parents to Alabama from Harris County, Virginia, in 1843. After His parents died he spent one year in Louisiana. He went back to Alabama  In 1859 and to Arkansas in 1860. He served in the Confederate Army, was In prison in Fort Deleware in 1865, released and sent back to Arksnasas In 1865. He was a farmer, engaged in the lumber business, and in the Register of voters of Sevier Co. Arkansas in 1868, gave his profession as "teacher."

Asa s married Sara Frances Clement, daughter of Abel Beaufort and Ann Perkins Clement (b. Nashville, Ark., Sept 3, 1844) at Paraclifta, Ark. on Dec. 24, 1860 Their children were:

In July 1864, Edmund Lyon was appointed the guardian of George W., Eugenia F. and John R. Doggett, minors, in Sevier County, Ark. Lyon later moved to Texas and another guardian was appointed.

The first ministerof St. Mary’s Charpel in Lancaster County, Virginia, Came from England prior to 1662.

JOHN DOGGETT

This John Doggett was an American Revolution Patriot who Furnished beef supplies to the American army; he is listed in 1790 census of Mecklenburg Co. Virginia. His eldest son was xxxxxxxx Ada Doggett, born in Virginia in 1770. Married Ann Garner of Mecklenburg co.

ASA DOGGETT

Born in Virginia in 1770, died in Columbia Co. Georgia in 1814.  Married Elizebeth Eubank. Their son was John W. Doggett, born in 1810
