Donna Russell gave me your e-mail address. She said you were working on the Brazil family. My great grandmother was Mary Elizabeth Brazil Lamb. She was a sister to your George Washington Brazil. Would love to exchange information Donna has also loaned me a copy of the picture album you left with her. As soon as I can find the time I will take it to Mrs. Pauley and see if she can help identify any of the pictures. She was my second grade teacher and is still a family friend. I could not recognize anyone but will also get my Mother to look at it. Are all the pictures of the Kirk family? If so I don't think Mother or I will be of any help. Jennie Lee Stone
Hi Jennie, Thank you so much for contacting me. This internet is great for finding "connections" isn't it? I would be thrilled to share any information I have with you. The photo album contains many photographs of people that are NOT of the Kirk Family. I suspect that some of them are Marsh's, Doggetts, Brazils and Lambs since these family names are part of our genealogy. My grandmother was Lucile Saloma Brazil (Lucy Loma) married to Rufus Clifton Kirk. Her mother was Virginia Lee Billingsley who was married to George Washington Brazil. I recently visited the Campground Cemetery in Arkansas and took digital photographs of the Brazil plot (GW and VL Brazil). Are you able to download and read JPEG images? Please keep in touch. My information is: Scott and Melanie Kirk 13902 Possum Tree Road San Antonio, Texas 78232 (210) 490-2371 home (210) 279-5475 scott's cell phone (210) 861-0650 melanie's cell phone elvis4994@aol.com
I live in Ashdown so I have visited Campground many times. My grandparents (W. O. and Jennie Lamb Lewis are buried there; My great grandmother (Mary Elizabeth Brazil Lamb) is buried beside her mother (Achsah Ann Sessions Brazil). Her father Jesse Light Brazil is also buried there but not beside his wife. Achsah's parents (Richard David and Sarah Whittington Sessions) are also buried there so you can see I have lots of grands buried at Campground. I also have seveal Aunts and Uncles there. I met Kate several years ago and realized that was her
when I saw the obit in the paper. Wish I had known more and had known what
to ask when I visited with her. Would love to exchange any information and maybe we can put this puzzle together. I have a picture of George Washington Brazil, his sister Mary Elizabeth and their mother and thought I had it scanned but can't find it. I scan it and send it soon. Our kids are here for the week-end and probably won't get it done for a few days. Jennie Lee Stone
Are you aware that Kate Brazil (Nix) just passed away last weekend in DeQueen, Arkansas? She was my grandmother's sister (daughter of George Washington Brazil). Kate was 96 years old. V/R Scott
Jennie, I'm sending you a photo of GW and VL Brazil Headstone at Campground Cemetery. I have more, but want to use this as a test to see if you can read it. Thanks Scott
Scott Do you have any information on Jessie Light Brazil. He is George's father. I am trying to find out who his father is. I think it is a William but need proof. Thanks Jennie Lee
