Dear client:

I have received Melanie’s check dated 16 April 2001 for $60.00, thank you and her. I am assuming that you finally got a disc with something on it for us.

I have also finally gotten from the Library At Raleigh in their photocopy orders some pages of a book which they said talked about possibly your Stephen Kirk. If it is referring to relatives of your Stephen they haven’t gotten the exact connection.

The Stephen in this account was born in Bute or Orange county and moved to York county, S. Car, by 1790 census and died in Chester county, S. Car. I have followed through on materials in census - deeds and probate and didn’t see how this man is connected to your Stephen at this point.

Your Stephen is not mentioned in the account but some parties by name of Kirk listed from records in some Georgia counties. The compiler of the book didn’t come up with the estate settlement records which I did in searching for you dealing with your Stephen and his wife and children and grandchildren.

I will pick up some threads on the problems with Stephen to his possible parents and his wife’ s families. When I have more time completed you will hear from me again. If you wish me to wait before proceeding again this spring, please let me know right away and I will wait awhile as requested. It is my pleasure having you for a client and working on your family lines.

Sincerely yours,

Mrs. Lola Sorensen / AG
