This site was established on August 1st, 1998 to support a continuing effort to trace the lineage of the Stephen Kirk family to colonial times and beyond.  So far, we have traced this family to known origins around Jones County Georgia in the early 1800's and settling around 1860 in the Timberlands (a Natural Division of the Gulf Coastal plains) of Sevier County / Little River County Arkansas. 

This site is dedicated to the oldest member of the "Southern Wind" Kirk Clan identified through historical records by professional genealogists and family researchers.  When another link is found, the name of the website dedication will change to honor that individual.
